Basket weaving

Relax and weave with the women

We welcome you to work with a woman of our community to weave baskets from grass collected in the hills of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Seated on mats in the gardens of R4W center, the women will get you started showing you the skills needed to weave. Once you are confident, you are then free to create your very own African souvenir, which you can then take home.

This relaxing activity gives you time to sit and interact with local Ugandan women within their own community, nestled among the misty hills of Bwindi, home to Uganda’s mountain gorillas.

If you want to arrange the activity contact us or you can wait until you come to Ride 4 a Woman and let us know then.

DURATION:

1-2 Hours (we can adjust times to your schedule)

INCLUDES:

Tea/coffee break with home-made doughnuts and cinnamon bread in the beautiful restaurant

Your own handmade souvenir to take home

“Sitting, chatting and laughing while learning to weave among the misty forest hills was just amazing. Among all of the incredible experiences I had in Uganda, this was one of the absolute highlights.”
