Goats providing financial security

In Bwindi, mostly anyone is able to have savings. Meaning that when an unexpected event occurs, the families don’t have the economic security to face it.

Health issues, home repairs, crops loss due to adverse weather… all these unexpected events and many others can occur and have a very negative impact.

Ride 4 A Woman created the goats program in 2022, after COVID pandemic, to provide women and their families with economical savings in the form of a goat. With the idea that if this unexpected event occurs, the family can sell the goat and get liquid money very quickly.

The goats are valued at 80$ each and are for meat consumption, but also provide the families with natural fertilizers for their crops.
